Can we all agree that eye makeup removers should be good for your skin?
Hey there people. I’m about to share a super easy DIY recipe for my eye makeup remover. I’ve been using this recipe for YEARS. I don’t think I’ve bought the store stuff in six or seven years.
Why? Well, for two reasons. First, I’m cheap. If I can make something and it’s fairly simple to do, then I will. Second, I’m not a fan of gross toxic ingredients, especially when it comes to skincare. And even more so when it comes to such a delicate area on my face. Because the eyes are the windows to the soul. And you don’t want your soul to look wrinkly and dehydrated.
So this recipe calls for witch hazel, an oil of your choice, and water.
That’s it. Sounds easy, right? Why only three ingredients? Because that’s all you need. The oil obviously has moisturizing properties while the witch hazel acts as an astringent. For the oil, I use vitamin E but olive oil, avocado, jojoba or almond oil would work amazing too. Whatever I have on hand is usually what I end up using.
3 Ingredient Eye-Makeup Remover
- Witch hazel
- Oil of your choice
- Water
- Small empty bottle
Directions
- Depending on the size of your bottle, mix equal parts of witch hazel and oil. I like to stick to a 1 ounce of each (assuming I’m using a 4-ounce bottle).
- Then I’ll add half of a tablespoon of water to dilute it a bit. The oil can leave your eyes very moisturized (aka greasy) so the water helps with that.
And voilà. You’ve got yourself a legit eye makeup remover.
The mixture should be shaken before each use and applied with cotton balls to remove makeup. Depending on how much eye makeup you’re wearing, you may need a couple cotton balls. It’s not as strong as the stuff you get at the store but believe me, it’s better for you and your wallet. You’re welcome!
I never in a million years thought to make my own but now that I know how easy it is…I will!!! I already have all those ingredients. Now I just need a bottle. Thanks, mama!

It’s literally the easiest thing to do and it’s a fraction of the cost. Plus, so much better for your skin. I usually get the bottles at CVS or good ole Target!!!
Love this and going to try this since I have all of the ingredients.

Love this! I usually just buy makeup remover wipes and call it a day lol. Oh and I just use soap and water 🤷♀️😂. This is why I’m no beauty blogger lol.
