Sawdust Winter Fantasy (5 Weekends Only)

The Sawdust Winter Fantasy in Laguna Beach is a must if you live in Orange County.

This winter wonderland meets art festival supports local artists and consists of ceramics, blown glass, jewelry, paintings, and photography among many others.

The best part about this festival is that it’s very family-friendly.

And because this is a popular event for families, most of the artists are very patient and understanding when they see children running into their shops.

While the Sawdust festival is open to the public during summer and winter, the winter fantasy is definitely geared more towards children.

One of my favorite things about this festival is that you’re doing something out of the ordinary with your children.

Yes, there are plenty of activities for your kids, but you’re exposing them art at a young age. It’s not everyday you get to use a pottery wheel or watch art demonstrations.

As you enter, you’ll notice Santa’s Towne Square (resembles a Santa’s village) with multiple photo op areas. There’s a sled, gazebo, 15 Christmas trees decorated by local organizations, and even a gingerbread house for kids to play in. It’s truly a win-win. Both parents and kids will be entertained.

As you walk through the festival, you’ll find various art shops (175 artists).

There’s also three different stages for live music, plus roaming entertainment. And if you get hungry, there are two cafes and a small snack shop. Listening to “Jingle Bell Rock” while snacking on popcorn? Yes please.

Some other fun things to note: there are glass blowing and other art demonstrations as well as complimentary art classes for children and adults. FYI, if you visit on a Saturday morning/ early afternoon, the Laguna Beach farmer’s market is walking distance from the festival.
